I’m Mandy!

I am the owner of Slim,Trim n Beautiful. 

I’ve been Hairdressing for 34 years and have a folder full of certificates- 

Hairdressing levels 1,2 & 3

Perming, Colouring, Colour Correction, Beard & Moustache trimming, Manicure & Cosmetic Makeup, L’Oreal Colour Keys workshop. 

I moved to Hong Kong in 1989 and opened a Barbers/Hair salon within the Army Camp. 

On returning home, I spent a couple of years in a local salon then left to work as a mobile hairdresser for several years. 

I became a Mum in 2000 and took Megan to work with me - maybe I inspired her all those years ago!

I took a break from Hairdressing and ran Miranda’s Florist for nearly 4 years. 

I then started shadowing the Hairdressing Lecturers at Wiltshire college in 2008 which eventually led to a full time job at the Salisbury Campus where I worked until 2013. 

Whilst there, I worked hard to gain a Teaching degree, an Assessors award and an Internal Verifiers qualification. 

I missed the client interaction and being hands on so eventually, opened up Slim,Trim n Beautiful. 

Alongside of Hairdressing, I trained and become a 1.1 Diet by Cambridge Weight plan Consultant which I also run from the salon. I’ve been a Consultant for 7 years and thoroughly enjoy motivating clients to become healthier, confident people!

I’ve got certificates in NLP, CBT, Body Language, Advanced Sports and Exercise Nutritional Adviser and an introduction to Counselling which compliment supporting my clients - in both sides of the business -  hairdressing and weight loss. 

I love all aspects of owning the salon, from helping clients to change their lives with weight loss to sending clients out the door with amazing new hair! 

Cutting an inverted bob is my firm favourite alongside of being creative with colouring services. 

I do miss the teaching so will soon be offering refresher courses within the salon for anyone who wishes to gain lost confidence/experience in hairdressing. 

And of course... it’s brilliant to have my daughter working in the salon with me......

I am 21 years old soon. 

I love running my business from the salon - Hairbymegx

I have previously done a year of childcare which was brilliant however the work place environment wasn’t for me. 

I then continued my education with a year of Beauty Therapy. I enjoyed my Beauty course a lot so decided to tie everything together and enrolled on a year’s course of Hairdressing. 

Alongside of this, I have also attended 7 individual day courses to enhance my qualifications and gain more experience to offer further treatments for my clients.

•Gel Manicure 

•Basic Makeup 

•Bridal Hair up

My favourite beauty treatment is Gel manicures - I love using 

“The Gel Bottle” products, especially the builder.. it gives a very natural but gorgeous end result!

When behind the chair hairdressing, I love carrying out colouring services & toners - especially ice white highlights!

I started my business in Slim,Trim ‘n’ Beautiful January 2020 and I’m loving every minute of it! 

This year, I hope to build a bigger clientele and to keep my lovely customers happy!
